about first equine aid

Empowering Horse Owners to Care for Their Horses

We understand horse owners simply want the best for their equine partner. It is our responsibility as owners, trainers, and riders to help our horses during crucial times of need. We travel to local Kentucky barns and beyond, teaching Equi-First
Aid-USA certified clinics.

First Equine Aid teaches you important first aid and emergency response skills and techniques to help your horse when they need you most through hands-on group classes and clinics. Our goal is not to replace veterinary professionals, but instead administer safe and effective treatment when you cannot immediately receive help from your vet.

Safe Trailering Practices

Keeping your horse safe is your number one priority. Is your trailer safe, how can you provide your horse the best experience during transportation? What are the protocols, your responsibilities and liabilities when involved in an accident and laws around hauling? Do you know if the size and layout of your trailer provides your horse comfort and stability or whether it poses risks that could lead to potential injury?

Join us for a practical day of learning how to keep your horse as safe as possible and be prepared for the unthinkable. All attendees receive a certificate of completion and a manual.

First Equine Aid Owner, Elizabeth Rapaport

I understand first hand the feeling of pure helplessness when your horse is injured. No horse owner wants to feel unprepared or unequipped to administer both basic and emergency treatment during a crucial time of need.

I started First Equine Aid out of personal need. My own horse was injured at a boarding facility and I was unprepared to help him. We also often ride in remote areas that don't typically have cell service. I wanted to educate myself on how to care for my horse in case of an emergency, and soon realized, these skills are invaluable to fellow horse owners and riders.

As a course instructor, I travel to barns in the Kentucky area and beyond teaching first aid courses to kids, teens, and adults from beginner through advanced.
